The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 6.0
Xilisoft Xbox Converter is a multi-format video converter. Just like all the other Xilisoft converters that I have tried, this one has an excellent support for input formats. It can open pretty much any file. It certainly opened all the ones that I tried it with (MKV, MP4, FLV, and AVI). The application limits the number of output profiles so that you buy other converters from Xilisoft, but if converting to Xbox or Xbox 360 is your only need, this one got it covered. Xilisoft Xbox Converter can convert files to WMV, MPEG4, H.264, AVI, DivX, and XviD. It also supports a few audio formats.
With version 6.0, all of Xilisoft converters have improved quite a lot. They all support GPU acceleration when the hardware is supported and they have a very nice user interface. They are simple and intuitive and perform like a charm.
In my testing, Xilisoft Xbox Converter did not disappoint. I opened an HD MKV file with no problems and then converted it to a WMV HD file, which can be played natively on the Xbox 360. The quality was very similar in both files (conversion ALWAYS results in quality loss). The conversion took a little while, because of the large size of the file. But I thought it was fast enough for my needs. |
